Default a couple good ones today..

The full moon is Sat. i beleive...or friday.LOL so this is the week to hit the water..

I was pitching the shoreline to day and got a 3 1/4 and a 4 1/2 pounder..same lure..Black Trick worm.I did boat a hefty 1 pounder early with a Rooster tail and and one about 2 pounds with the trick worm..

THis one is 3 1/4 pounds..

and a 4 1/2 pounder..

Gangly,
I was at the back pit..I wqas there 1 /2 hour before daylight..I got a 1 pounder off the sandbar with a Rooster tail...I tried hard with a johnson SPoon and trailor..got nothing...then I pitched the back pit..I got the 4 1/2 pounder one third of the way down..Then..I lost a nice one..I set the hook north but the bass was soutn and digging hard to the middle..Then out in the middle I got a 3 1/2 dead sticking..

Lastly..I went to where you caught yours and caught one nearly 2 pounds...The rain came hard..I was drenched..The rain was side waysLOL After the rain..not one bite..

What is your choosen method of fishing during a rain?

Up here, spinnerbaits are the tried and true rain tactic... and I'm a 100% believer.

I don't like fishing in a thunderstorm..which is what happened upon me yesterday..but I love fishing the water just prior to the rain..BEST TIME to fish...that low pressure and drop in water temps..gets them going.

I use the wind to my advantage and will drift 2 rods over my favorite areas..repeatedly..{ for hours [ -;} usally the area is a drop off coming off of a sand/rock bar. using a Texas Rig..black trick worm...If the fish are seriously on I'll switch to a green pumpkin jig for better fish.

Overall..the decent fish seem to move in toward the shoreline to get a quick bite of food so I will pitch...At my fsihing area I generally pitch all day..IF I'm striking out and there appears to be no fish on the shoreline..I simply back off the shore about 10 foot. I fish old phosphate pits so 10 foot off the shore is usally very deep. 8-15 foot.

Since the weeds are all gone I don't even take weedless spinnerbaits with me no longer. My son Matt loves the Rapala crankbaits { Shad rap in Pearl color} and does well with them..but I tend to get bigger fish on rubber worms. I took today off from fishing..I needed to straighten up the shed and my bed room..

I mostly fish Texas Rig with a 1/16th ounce split shot painted candy apple red. I use a 4/0 Gatza....hook on 10 pound trilene or 12 pound P line Flourocarbon

Dang, more nice bass. With the moon setup right, you'ge gonna have some really good fishing I bet.

I love fishing in the rain during the summertime, don't care so much for thunderstorms though, and if lightening is near, I'm outta there.

BH14,

I have generally done well with spinnerbaits in the rain. However, I have also done well with flukes jerked quickly under the surface with a steady cadence.

That fluke sounds like a winner..and when I had hydrilla..BUCK is correct. The Terminator spinnerbait was my bait of the year..
