Default My weekend

Went out with a local fly fishing club to a lake Saturday morning and had a great time trying to learn fly fishing. Caught a lot of bluegill and the guy I was on the boat with caught a few crappie as well. The next day I took my kayak out to a wildlife refuge and managed a nice little bass and a small channel cat. Saw tons of gar but couldn't get them to bite anything. Anybody know how to catch those!? Had a great time both days!

Its a really beautiful lake. A little small at only 105 acres, but when you're in a kayak, smaller is better! haha I get a little tired of paddling after a while. I had fun, wish I could have caught a crappie on fly was my only regret!

I suppose you can't hunt around the lake though huh? That would be too perfect.....

Wow, looks like a good day to me! I can't wait for our waterways to clear up! We are having high water from winter run off; but when it is through the fish better watch out! lol
