Today was the day. Here is the breakdown.
Turkey scouted this morning, got permission on a dime piece of property. Three strutters in the field when I left.
Got home around 11, ate some lunch and decided I wanted to try some of my new bass equipment.
I've caught some small ones this time of year, but never big ones. I've learned alot of from fishing tournaments the last year and I think I proved it to myself.
My second cast with my crankin' rod, my rainbow Azuma got smoked but didn't get a hookset. I seen the fish turn and head under a dock. I quickly grabbed my quantum smoke flippin' stick and pitched a black and red omega jig. Picked it up twice and hit a brick wall. After nothing short of an absolute battle, I landed one of the largest Bass of my life.
23.5" and 6.43 pounds.
After the pictures were said and done and the fish was happily released, I keyed on underwater structure and pulled out another dandy.
About 20" and 4.23 pounds.
I managed to land numerous bass on both the jig and cranks. What a day.
I sure could have put together an incredible five fish bag today.
