Default How to read the fishing report from the newspaper { -;

Dear Friends,

The tackle shop owners in our area give the reports to the newspaper..I've been in the tackle shop when they write up the report.

Face it..their primary goal is to sell tackle.I've seen them make up false catches and say they were caught on lures that was not true..in which they had plenty of..THEN ..the light came on..if you really want to know which local lakes are honestly producing..read the tournament reports...
A lake only 2 miles from my house { Shallow lake} yielded some very nice stringers of bass last weekend..The biggest bass was 8 3/4 pounds..The lake is Lake Parker..Guess where I plan to fish at tomorrow..nice gentle wind from the west 5 MPH..I should be fine.

Also Lake Kissiemmee yielded 10 bass over 10 pounds in a tourney..that lake is too big ..BUT my secret lake...remember the one I posted last year..that is a tributary off kissemmeee..SO when Matt is feeling better we will go..

The shallow lakes are getting it on..Saddle Creek where I normally fish is deep..it is lock jaw city right now.

My wife has been ill..if she doesn't need me in the morning..I'll be on Lake Parker flipping the reeds..all morning ..it's a flipping lake only..

Hee's Lake Parker..it's 2 miles from me..The building in the back is one of 2 power plants...the entire lake looks like this..Fishermen pitch or flip the shoreline..from a boat..the lake is only 8 foot in the middle..If you enlarge the map on the bottom..I live 1/2 mile south of Lake Bonny..not good for fishing..too many jet skis..
Also..once you enlarge the map..note all the lakes at the top..that is Tenoroc...remember Lake Legs and Lake Fish Hook from last year...they are at the top { -; ..Those bluegills were caught from there..
Note Saddle Creek Road..on the east of teh map..one mile down that road is Saddle Creek...a huge phosphate fishing hole..where I will fish alot once the water warms up..so I am surrounded by good fishing..

When you enlarge the Lake Parker map..note the park on the top left side of Parker..{ Green area } i will be using that boat ramp and fishing there..lot's of pads and cat tails.

NOW..note the canal at the extreme north,,,this was my first serous bass hole once I arrived in Florida..that place used to be acessable by foot..I thought I went to heaven..the bass would swim up and bed in that canal..it goes into Lake Crago..which can be seen on the map..

By the way..that is another fishing tip..Bass love to bed in the north western part of lakes..It's generally the warmest..I'll be there this morning ..God willing.

This was my first stop in 1981...I caught a bunch of personal best at the north end..in a pit I could aceess by foot..walking through a cow pasture..the cows are now gone..I tried that spot again..and learned a very good technique watching another fisherman..the fish are spawning..

I boated 8...but shouid do better with size from here out.

Yes MT..I've fished the pumped out water before...it's especailly good for stripers. I plan to fish this lake the most..
