Default What Knot do you trust to hold the weight??

I have tried alot of diffrent knots, the knot that i have used for a very long time for every thing is the Palomar knot, Its not a time consuming knot and it works plane and simple (IMO).

Improved Clench for mono

Palomar for Braid

Uni Knot for Flouro Carbon..HOWEVER ..I don't plan to use flouro carbon this year..I got a tip from a real pro..Josh Kellar..He;s a member here..He just uses mono as a leader..so will I.

BLood knot to join to lines together..

are you moistening the line liberally before tightenting it down? If i don't lube it liberally, i will wind up breaking off at the knot as well. what knot are you using to connect your leader?

Default the Improved Clinch Knot Hold Weights

Nothing against the palomar, but I just plain forget how to do it after a month.
Been using the improved clinch knot for decades for fishing. Besides it holds weight. Ive been using this knot to tie the rope when pulling up a rifle or compound bow to the elevated tree stand. Haven't dropped a rifle or bow yet. And that's all the testimonial I will ever need.

I love the improved clinch on mono....

but on braid..I've had 2 pounders break lose at the knot..Palomar is my braid..

The Uni knot is super good for flouro carbon

I wet every knot...leader to line, i'll use a blood knot, line-swivel-line, i still use palomar

i've tried every knot i can think of on the fluro...and i still feel the knot is the weakest link. but what gets me is that 10 pound test breaks like 6-8 test, where with my mono of choice (berkley big game in green), it seem to go above advertised #/breakage, i know its a big stiff line but evertime i fish with fluro i feel like i'm going backwards...the thing i like about it is i get bit mofe when our water clears up, but i just don't trust it....

will be trying vicious soon, got several spools recently
