Wager on the big one. Brown trout.

Here' s a picture of a Brown I landed four nights ago.
Was away from the lodge for two hours, just on dusk.

Now there' s a wager on, for a bottle of fine single malt whiskey.
Any guest in the lodge who can catch one bigger.
Fish is 24 1/2 inchs long. Big tail, just compare with my XL hands.
I' d say in summer he would go 10 pounds or more.
The winter fishing has been quite good down here.

I have GOT to get down there! I was watching Flyfishing the World a couple of years ago. They were fishing a river in southern NZ when the angler has a 10 or 11 inch rainbow whack his fly. A split second later the ' bow is inhaled by a 12 lb brown. This guy then lands and releases BOTH FISH, alive! Now that' s fishing!
