Default I tried a little ice fishing today..

I went and tried out my new auger while doing some ice fishing today. I caught one average size chain pickeral and that was it. There was around three inches of slush under the snow which made it hard walking. Then when trying to leave I couldn't get my S-10 up over the hill. I had to call the wife to bring out the Jeep so I could get towed up over the hill. The jeep couldn't get any tracktion. So I went and got a couple of buckets of sand. That did the trick and up they came over the hill. Alot of work for ice fishing today if you ask me. But all in all it was a great day out on the lake.
The saddest part was I had left my camera at home. As there was a really neat sunset I would of like to have gotten a picture of. The sun was setting on the other side of the lake which was quite normal. There was some low clouds going by where the sun was setting. The strange part was as the sun was setting it had a single beam of light shooting straight up. That beam of light hit the low clouds going by making them look like they were on fire or something. The beam made the sun look like some sort of bright comet with a giant tail. I had never seen anything quite like it. I can only say I wished I had my camera with me..

No, I put it back down the hole for someone else to catch. I have eaten them in the past and they are a good flavored fish. There are just to many bones in them for my likeing.
