spawning catfish
My neighbor has a small pond in her back " yard" where she keeps her horse. I' ve been fishing back there for about 3 days in a row for cats and i haven' t caught a thing. The first day, the catfish were rolling and you could follow the bubble trails across the water, but that was it. the 2nd day my sister hooked into one, but it broke her line. and yesterday, we didn' t catch anything. We were using crawfish in chicken blood the last 2 days and blood bait the first. I just found out that they' re spawning right now. Is there any bait that works better than another in these conditions? There' s not any natural cover that we can see above water ( trees fallen over, etc. ) but there' s prolly some limbs under water. What should i use for bait?
