i like a 3-4" pumpkin seed tube with the tips dyed chartuese, or watermelon, done the same....anything that looks like a bream raiding a bed is a good bet...lizards are good also...trick worms

catching bedded bass is not as cut and dry as some think, but here is a little more info that may help you...BTW, not every bass you can see will kill a bait, it kind of depends on what stage of the spawn that fish is at

Was you on the east side or west side.??.are you possitive they weren't nile perch..I'm going on the east side tomorrow.I've been seeing lots of nile perch..

Bedding bass will generally knock the socks off anything on their beds..A few years ago I got a ton of hits using a 3 inch green tube..with micro split shot...as the tube would slowllyyy fall they would killi it

Hey Zack..your supposed to let me know when you are seeing bedding bassLOL..been waiting for 2 months.

I can't believe you guys aren't catching bedded fish in Florida yet. With your cold temps and our hot temps were about even. I found my first Largemouth bed yesterday... only a 2.5 pounder though.

Ill try the green tubes. Chuck I was on the east side. Also when you go into the water straight ahead by the first pond there are topped out hydrilla around a little island and I was working a zoom frog and there were a lot spashes. I don't know if it was bass or gar because I saw a lot of gar there as well. If you know how to target these buried bass let me know so pointers. Thanks

Thanks for the update..I'll go tonight..probably...I miss my family after work at as well.tough choice.{ -;

Best plan I have in thick hydrilla
a. Horny Toad..early in the morning..
b. if not too thick..spinner bait..
C. if I know they are there ..rubber worm or jig..

Buckhunter ,,the cold really did a number on our fisheries..90% of the fish in one lake alone died putting many commercial fisherman out of work..I've never seen the spawn this late before either..

I've been fishing since late Jan..EVERY week so Iwouldn't miss the spawn..it's not just me as I will ask other fishermen as well..they all say the same thing..they are not spawning yet..I've covered alot of square feet drifting Colorado Rigs..chucking spinnerbaits and have struck out at least 6 times..worst I've ever done..

Zack..Horny Toad is the way to go...last year I tried them and I'm hooked...they are great for where you and I fish..I';'ll check the weather and I'm 80% sure I'm going..

God bless,
C7

yikes..rain is coming..now it's IFFY
