Default Fishing in the rain last night

I went out for 2.5 hours last night and got rained on almost the entire time. I started out with a Lake Fork Majic Shad which is a decent bait but not very durable at all. For the amount of use you get out of them, they are overpriced in my opinion. Anyways, after the 4th or 5th cast the rod loads up and the fight is on. Of all the bass I have caught, this one was by far the most acrobatic of all. He lept out of the water numerous times, twice of which was 2-3 feet in the air, and on the 4th or 5th jump the Lake Fork Majic Shad flew out into the lake never to be seen again. Dadgum baits are good but jeez, you cant keep them on the hook for anything. The bass couldnt snap the braid though and was soon on the bank. Bass number two came on my new favorite lure and struck about 2-3 feet from the banks edge. By the time I realized the bass had struck, I already had him reel'd in and he was flopping at my feet, kinda startled me to be honest . The bass kept short striking the lure so I decided to slow it down and go for a larger slower presentation. I picked up a 10" worm and light bullet weight and began to cast parallel to the banks edge. Got a whole bunch of bites but no takers. It was getting late, I was soaked, and so I decided it was time to leave. I walked back to the trail where I enter the lake area at and decided to make a few more casts before calling it quits. I cast the worm out about 15 feet out from the bank, and about 30 feet down the bank, and begin to slow hop it with small shakes in between. After one of the slow pulls, I let the worm fall slowly, hit the ground, and then I reel up the slack. When I go to lift again, I feel tension on the line. I never even felt the strike, just the tension on the line when I went to pull it up again. I crossed it's eyes and eventually brought it in. A nice female of 2.68 lbs. Turned out to be a good day of fishing, even though the rain was pouring down. When I fillet'd the female out, I saw her egg sack, but it was no bigger than my thumb. I assume that they still havent spawned yet but I dont know. this is the 2.68 female.
