Default Caden's Catfish and a Drum

This past weekend I was in the New Braunsfels area with my wifes family and we passed a catfish stocked pond. Caden hooked up on a few of catfish, but only managed to land 2 and he had a blast.

Before we left New Braunsfels, I got a little bit of fishing in and caught this 13lb freshwater drum in the shallows at about 11:30 in the afternoon. I was VERY surprised to see him when he flopped on the top. They are almost exclusively nocturnal as far as I knew, just a neat catch I think.

i worded that poorly, sorry MT. Too clear it up, Caden caught his fish in New Braunsfels but I went fishing at my local spot here in the Houston area and caught the drum.

We did not float the river. I enjoy it greatly, but its too cold for me. In my teens maybe, but I'm clicking 30 in a few days and anything under 70 requires something to numb my senses, and I'm not one that has ever really had a taste for alchohol so I generally wait until its really hot before I go float the river. Plus, the hotter it is, the smaller the bikinis get ;-)
