Default 200 hp Johnson

I just purchased a 1990 GT 200 hp Johnson outboard and was wanting to change the water pump impellor. Anybody know how big a job that is, if there are any tricks to it. Also, how much oil and what kind goes in the bottom end. Thanks

been several years since i've done an OMC, but best i can remember the shifter linkage is the only thing that can be a little tricky, as for lower unit lube, i think it calls for 85 or 90 to about 110 wt. ....

a great source for boat, motor, and electronics questions is

www.bassboatcentral.com there is a johnson/evinrude motor forum there they be able to "walk you thru" every bit of it along with 110 other forums, good source for all you fishing and boating questions

good luck, i have run merc's for the past 17-20 years and there a breeze to work on the LU, and i'm sure yours won't be bad either, just a matter of knowing the "little tricks" that make it slide together
