Default still love it...

well i went walleye fishing sunday and took my spinning reels spooled with 8lb iron silk....many of you asked how many times i used it and how i liked it....this line been on both my reels since i bought it around the ending 1/2 of last summer...i didnt get to use it very much i dont think....a few catfishing trips and i think thats about it...as you know catfish are killers on normal line with there 100s of razor sharp teeth streching the line to the max...thrashing around....living in some horrible conditions to be a line..well i still love it....i caught a 13 inch walleye or so and got it up from 22 ft down easily...then i caught a catfish...24 ft down atleast 15ft out from the boat so it was a ways away...took about 5 minutes to get him up ever so carefully on 8lb test....i thought it was a trophy walleye that i wasnt letting get away.....i would take 2 feet of line and he would take 4...then when i got him to the boat he went absoultely nuts...twice i lost about 10ft of line when i had him withing 5 ft of the boat.....my rod was bent in half most of the time...very sensative rod perfect for what i WAS using it for before this guy took my worm....a few times he pulled so hard i almost had to let go of the rod because it was so quick and powerful...but i didnt.....i got him to the surface and he thrashed rolled and took more line back down...i got him back up and got someone to get a net under him...a minute later i was holding the biggest channel ive ever caught...about 24inches long and about a 22 inch girth i estimated with a tape measuer.....both should be close....id say he was 14-16 lbs easy...man what a fight....that line went through some tough conditions and is a year old...when i got on the boat i was like uht oh! im a moron...this line will have tons of memory....i was wrong...iron silk had minimal memory....less than any line ive seen and it all came right out....i had no problems with it at all...and i still cant find a nick in the line like normal monos......if your looking for a good mono i love this stuff...anyone else use it yet??? i hope they dont quit making it...it seems like nobody really tried the stuff yet....

Good line 06. But your running a risk with old line as sunlight and exposure deteriorates line substancially. Stick with the good line but change it more often. Many times I change weekly and have daily.

ya i have to change it soon....but its been in the garage and if that catfish that was pretty close or over 15lbs didnt break it from 24ft down im not to worried....i had no problems with it breaking or anything like normal line after a while....most of my other rods i change about once a month all summer unless i fish hard that month then after every few trips....all depends...i wish they made it in clear so i could use it on my trout rods....green stands out to much in a crystal clear spring creek......
