Default weekend fish

On Friday arvo we went to the property that we shot those pigs at and went down to the river. I got set up and threw my line in the water and in about 5mins I had a fish on but it spat the hook just before I landed it. About 2hours later we caught a euro carp then we caught a yellow belly that was about 2 pound/2 1/2 pound and we got it dressed for the freezer then we caught another 3 carp that night.the next morning while I was asleep my dad pulled in 2 more carp then about 1 hour later we pulled a small carp in then another one in about 2 minutes after casting on the same rod. My dad and another bloke went for a paddle down the river when I nailed a yellow belly about 3 pound andwhen dad got back we dressed it for the freezer. On the friday night a big fish took my dads rod from the rod holder and saturday morning we flukeshly caught the rod and reel back which was almost on the other bank in a deep hole so later on saturday we caught another carp which ended the weekend.

It is a type of native fish here in aus that are a good fish to eat and they put a good fight up. they are usually up to about 7 kg for a average on but you only eat the ones between 1 to 2 kg or you will just eat and taste the fat. If you dress them right they are a really good eat. For more imformation go to http://www.nativefish.asn.au/ and then in the top bit go to fish files then go down to golden perch, regards
