On the average..what % of the bass do you boat on jigs???..
I'm at about 10 %
Things tried...in one outing I crossed thier eyes on the pick up..Caught NONE I wsa 0/10
On another outing ,I waited till they ran with it..only 2 out of 10 ran ..they were caught..the other 8 picked it up gave one tug.dropped it.
VERY FRUSTRATED
chuck i'd guess i land or hook up with 65-80% on bites, i really don't know what to say on you not hooking up, it could be the fish, you have mentioned they are heavyly pressured, and your water is very clear, may be small fish, hard to say, check your trailer for teeth marks, try a smaller trailer, if there are marks on the plastic but not hooking up, i have swam fish all the way to the boat before with the hook folded over while pre-fishing, and i have had days like your mentioning, where they don't give you much of a chance... i'd say more likely the fish than you, they'll be a day you can't shake them off, i have tried

MT, how do you present your jigs, and what style of retrieve do you use?
i love to flip and pitch, then i'll just fish it like a plastic worm bumping the bottom, i'll throw to the same target 5-20 times, i think of it like messing with a cat, eventually they'll strike at it..i also like to fish a heavy jig 3/4-1 1/4 oz in matted vegitation, the heavy weight will bust thru the grass and get down to the "tunnels" were big fish are waiting for an easy meal, this is one of the toughest things to learn but will pay off big time, this a a strong summer time pattern on grassy lakes, and fish do in the summer just like the winter, they really bunch up, you may fish a good strecth of water, but when you get on a wad of fish you'll be amazed, most of this is done in 12-20 foot of water...
but for pure fun, take a 1/4-1/2 jig black and blue, or green pumpkin, and flip/pitch it around every sticth of cover, if the line does anything out of the ordinary, pull the trigger

I do know one thing...the other day I left my green/brown jigs home..the only one I had I broke the line on a hook set..} -: I HATE THAT!! all I had left was a blue and red jig..and when I put the green pumpkin trailor legs on the thing it looked really funky..LOL I'll tell ya what ..I've lost count of all the hits I've had on that funky combination..I went out the other day and put the green/brown on..I had nothing,,,I switched out to the weird combo..and started getting hits.weird huh.
God has a funny way of letting you know what works sometimes. If you hadnt broke that one off, you never would have came across the remarkable color combination that you have now. Funny how that works out sometimes.

ANd good luck on the hook set..if you find the answer Aaron ..please let me know..
I've landed...one, two , three..four ..five and lost well over 20 } - : the 5 I got picked it up like a worm and ran..they other 20...fooled with it..went to set the hook and lost it;;I did have 2 others set but they busted the line...both of them were this year..It seems to be a great finesse lure ...because in most places it's a lure the fish has never seen..you can really get a great idea what the bottom sttructure is like and is an excellent count down lure for us folks without depth finders..
Good luck Aaron and i hope you can master the hook set..I haven't yet..however on the rubber worm and Horny Toad I pretty much have.{ -:
