Default Ya'll were right :(

I picked up a medium cherry wood rod for my spin caster because I didnt want to spend too much more money on a combo that I wouldn't use that often.

Sure enough, I'm pulling the rods out of the garage and i hit the tip of the cherrywood on the top of the garage door and SNAP, broke the tip off . Fortunately for me, since it was on a spincaster that has the eyelets down instead of up, I can clip off the hanging end and not worry about cutting the line. But jeez, you really do get what you pay for!

i cut the tip off and it actually feels better now that it did. I know I could exchange it at walmart for free, but it actually felt pretty good with the last 5 inches broken off.

yup, i can imagine, because thats exactly what happend to mine, and I didnt even bump it that hard. I had a Castaway and an H&H in the same hand, all three hit the garage door, and only the cherrywood broke.

Same here...I'm carrying 6 to the boat..they rub the ceiling...I lay them in the boat and see a piece of cherry wood dangling..thinking ..oh crapp!!!never again..
6 months later buy another for pan fishing..All 6 rods are nicely laying down 3 on each side..one looks funny..it's a broken cherry wood..

guess what..NO MORE CHERRY WOODS!
