Default Best bass baitcaster for around $100 or less?

I used to know quite a bit about these but I took a quick gander online today and I'm seeing some outrageous prices on these things. My old Shimanos from the 1980's aren't holding up too well these days and I think it's time to move on.

How about you guys in the "know" list five or so good ones for me if you wouldn't mind and I can go check 'em out, online preferably.
Thanks!

edit to add: I'm not looking for multi-purpose caster, I have Garcia 6500's for big fish and spinners for light work; just looking for a decent bass caster.

I'd find the older green curados on ebay. Best reels made for around $100, EVER, IMO. I have some that are from the early 90's still on my rods.

LOL...

i dont have probs with my sx chuck.....magnentsare set about 50%....the spool controll knob on the side is touchy.....
the thing is is that the spool can obtain major speed, because its so smooth, so you have to set it slightly tighter than normal untill you get used to throwing with it. then fine tune her....it took me a good 30 minutes of playing to get mine set the first time... i can cast along waywithout ever touching my thumb to the spool and not get a backlash. if i really wip it35+ yardsi have to use my thumb a bit.

the SX has Magnetic Breaks(adjusted with external dial.... if you take the plate off youll see the magnets and the Plate that covers them up when you adjust thedial)

...the S has Centrifical Breaks(weights that slide on Pins, they arent magnets).

The magnets on the Sx dont effect spool speed so much untill the end of the cast. Thats why you can cast it so far once its set right.

....I like it because it casts smoother than the S,( i get farther casts with much less effort than with my other reels)your not the only one ive heard complain about the SX, But i think you gave up on it too soon out of frustration.if you wouldve just cranked her down a little bit with the side spool knob you couldve gotten the feel of her.....

Tightening the Drag down isnt the correct way to adjust the reel (thats whatthe guy in the review said)

for some reason i dont have any confidence in Pfleuger, browning, BPS reels...let me know what you think after the season is up and youve put some miles on her.
