If you are wanting to catch fish..I'd get shiners..live bait..
If you are wanting to just enjoy the art of angling..Here is my set up...
First ...I'd look for 3-5 foot shore-line with willow branches or cat tails ..then I'd pitch..a Texas Rig 6 inch worm..with ROUND BB split shot..I did that this morning..and I had a nice fish within 5 minutes. The bite was off..when that happens I ended up fising deep and slow..rubber worm.I got one on a 12 inch black Bass Assaassin worm. I was lookin for Mrs.Big..
Second..I'd throw a 1/4 ounce white weedless spinner bait..for about 30-45 minutes..
just out side the shoreline.2-8 foot deep.
If they are biting ..that would be all I'd use..all day.If they are tearing that up..I'd switch to a 1/2 ounce.Terminator...2 willow leaves and white or maybe chartruese skirt...looking for the big one.
Third..If that didn't work I'd finesse fish by using a
3/8 ounce Rooster Tail..cast long..let it hit the bottom and retrieve just enough to keep the blade turing. This lure catches ANYTHING..You must use a small snap swivel thoiugh..it will twist your line up..I only use a white hackle.
Fourth..If there are lily pads , weeds , grass...I'd go
ZOOM HORNY TOAD..
That is pretty much how I fish all the time..If you get really hard up for a monster fish. Go get some shiners..and bobber fish..have your camera ready..
