Rods:
I always bring three rods: a bait caster for soft plastics, heavy lures and some crankbaits, a spin caster for mostly top water crank baits, and an open face spinning rod for light tackle and finesse lures that are very light.
Lures:
A box consisting of soft baits (worms, lizards, crawdads), an assortment of minnows in various shapes and sizes to cover the top 5 feet of water, jigs in light and dark colors with asorted trailers to cover the bottom, and a few(not many) diving crankbaits that cover anywhere between 5 feet of depth and the bottom.
Equipment:
Needle Nose Pliers
Reqular pliers
JB Weld or any fast curing cement mix solution (never know what you will hit in the jon boat

)
Pocket Knife
Long Sleeve Shirt for protection against mosquitos and the sun
Bug Spray
String Rolls of 3 different weights, generally 8, 10, and 12, but sometimes I will throw in a 20 pound spool depending on what I will be fishing in.
Hat
.22 Rifle for Cotton Mouths
