Help from a Mercury outboard tech

I have a Boston Whaler with a 2005 90 Optimax that runs great all day fishing in the ocean no smokeing and on my way in to the marina i get a steady beep for 20-30 seconds and the beep will stop but the motor starts smoking when it goes into Guardian mode. I cant figure it out. Oil is full gas is ample plenty of water coming out of the motor. Have gages and everything looks fine???
Need some Help.

I would ask someone at the hull truth www.thehulltruth.com, but our Opti got some grass stuck in it and that caused the buzzer to go off. It could be a million things, so I wouldnt run it again until a certified mechanic saw it.

i think a continious beep is water pressure or water temp related, may be time for a new water pump, i replace mine yearly, easy job on mercury. but take it to the shop, they'll hook it up and tell you what is going on....

I HAVE A MERCURY OPTIMAX 225HP YEAR:2003... I HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE..... WHEN I RIDE MY BOAT AND AFTER PASS THREE THOUSAND RPMS THE ENGINE JUST STOP.... AND I START THE ENGINE AGAIN WITHOUT PROBLEM AND WHEN CONTINUE MY RYDE AND PASS THE THREE THOUSAND RPMS HE STOP AGAIN... HE ONLY STOP WHEN I PASS THE THREE THOUSAND RPMS AND I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO TO FIX IT!!!!! I NEED HELP!!!! I CHANGE ALL O RINGS FROM THE VAPOR SEPARATOR AND ITS THE SAME AND I CHANGE BOUTH FUEL PUMP AND HE CONTINUE WHIT THE PROBLEM!!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to a mechanic, instead of trying to fix it yourself.

I've got mine on Craigs list..I had a call today...

Mine would sputter ..sputter ..sputter after 5 inutes and quit..and not start ..

OK...tank is clean.....straight fuel hose to the new filter...clean hose to the NEW fuel pump...and new CARB...
Pull rope..starts and purrs like a baby..5 minutes later..putt putt putt..pull out choke..tries to run ..run but run putt runt putt putt ..quit..

FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I stuck this 2005 Nissan in the corner of my shed and it's on sale for 200.00 on Craigslist..it starts up fine.and yes..my vent was open..

Fuel pump was 85
carb..was 220.00

I only fish big pits so electric is how I'll be going from here out.I got an 865 cranking amp battery and she keeps me going all day..{ -;
