Default Bought some new tackle..

Walmart just got some new looking Ugly Sticks..They don't look like the old ones..They feel like a St.Croix..I'm very impressed..and one solid color instead of the lime tip..They are 37.99. I got a 7' and 2 6 1/2 footers..all mediums..I'm going back to my original feel and set..The medium heavy is a little too stiff for me.Matt told me to pick him up one tonight as well with a few top water lures.[8D]

While there, I noticed a nice display of reels on the counter..There is my Garcia Revo sitting beside this sharp little baitcaster..I picked it up..LOVE and first sight..even though the price was 149.00 I had to get it.10 ball bearings..smoothest reel I've ever handled with a 6.4 ratio..
My birthday is June 16th .My wife said it's my early birthday present..onr rod included.I said ."Thankyou."

Here she is..my new top water reel.

Well Chuck, if you can't fish good at least you can look good. Good for you. [:-] I like matching equipment also. I have five 6 ft. ugly sticks med. heavy when I fish down there, short rods but deadly accurate being a short rod and good for hoisting bass out of thick cover. All my reels are spinners with a flip bail. I know people will give me a lot of crapola for just being a spinner reel fisherman but I've fished with a lot of people down there who throws nothing else but bait casters with maybe one spinner in their arsenal and they are no more competitive than I am. My brother who lives down there has more tackle than Bass Pro and I thick thats how its gotten to be,........ the tackle has hooked more fisherman than fish.

Well Chuck, if you can't fish good at least you can look good. HEY!! I'm I'm 10 1/2 pounds up on you so far..whipper snapper.[8D]I've boated about 100 so far this year.

Good for you. [:-]Welll...I figure I've got 2 months off after 8 more days to fish ,fish , fish..So let's have fun doing it.

I've got 4 very good baitcaster set ups and 6 open faced spinning set ups..I can do some good things with those open faced..

A. Cast smoother..keeps from ripping the hook through the worm
B. Pin point casting .under handing, bow and arrow cast , pitch it ..flip it..and cast farther than the baitcaster.
C. With a small boat I usually use an open faced..I can cast it without putting the lure in my son's face..

This morning I plan to take my new reel of course and 2 open faced.spinning set ups..on med.heavy Team Diawas..Matt's never fished top water in his life.,.I'm going to give him all the the top water opportunities while I spin cast with my weedless spinner. I may make a couple top water cast with my new reel..I got the itch..

Well. 1 month ago I lost a nice rod and reel..in the lake..[&o]so I had to replace it..I've got 10 spots for rods and reels on my rod holder in the house..and I have 10 nice set ups in those spots..
4 baitcasters and 6 open faced spinners..

Matt and I just came back..We boated 11 ..Aa the top water were quality fish..and the medium rod uped my catch ratio from 25% to 80 percent..

He fell in love with spinner bait today..cause he was striking out for quite a while..The bite was tough..

"you are wise beyond your years"

I'd say that would apply to you in relation to your above statement....except you're getting pretty darn old too
