Need to update tourney

I left the rubber worms at home today.except the few laying on the floor of the boat..and tried some topwater out..
I got this 22 inch ..5 pounder at 12:10 today..they were biting real good.
This one was caught on a secret artificial topwater bait..



Here's what I fish in..can someone say TOP WATER

That's cool Chuck! I love catching fish when they are on top.. Perhaps you can get a chance to try one of those streamers out with a small splitshot running about 2 - 3 feet in front of it..

I still got my streamers..We re finally getting the rain..I think all of this rain is getting the bass active..I boated 6 today..I missed my first 4 top water and then I learned fast how to get them..let them run a little and then SET !! The explosion was causing me to set too fast missing the fish..or set too weak..no ..The set has to be solid..My first one was was a real good fish[&o]I'm hooked on top water..nothing like it.

NO ..you are serious..I realized something had to change..Florida has plenty of decent fish..and those worms were setting a pattern of 1 1/2 to 3 pound fish..I think the big fish have been educated. I felt in my Spirit...the Lord telling me leave my worms home and fish top water..In 5 minutes I missed a hawg...I'm still having a hard time setting the hook.I missed 5 yesterday after home church..within 30 minutes..the reason why this lure will remain a secret.[8D]It is very hot.

I did bring worms though yesterday as a good fisherman is well rounded..The fish were off yesterday..and I still boated 4 . Once I knew top water was off and they wouldn't chase spinnerbaits.I finesse fished..I worm fished with 10 pound Trilene clear and with a 6 1/2 foot medium rod..The medium rod helps the Trilene not to break and it's fun.

My secret bait is now my #1 go to lure..
it covers water fast and attracts big fish..rubber worming takes too much time ..
#2...spinnerbait...is flat out wonderful
#3 ...flipping/ pitching jug or rubber worm..always good when all else fails..
#4 ...finesse casting with mono ..always works when fish have lock jaw..
#5 ...swiveled Rooster Tail..great for when they are jumping..and boiling.

Next Sat..I plan to fish the diving crank baits..I have a box of quality crankbaits and need to learn when and where to use them..

I'm sorry to hear of your issues that you PMed about..
I will be praying..

2nd...This is a message board..a place I interpret for like minded folks to encourage one another in the same interest. When a fellow angler on the tourney post a one pounder or 8 pounder I give him / her the thumbs up...Now I can see maybe a couple of folks not replying but when 95 % aren't and some who I consider close buds I have to wonder..have I offended that many people?[&o]or what[:-]

I don't think it's jealousy because all of our southern lakes hold tons of fish over 5 pounds. Also,it's hard making fish laying down flatlook as chunky as one being held up close in front of the lens.

I think M.T. is right on this one Chuck but I do not know for sure. also keep in mind some are checking the posts that are not even members. But none the lessI do this all in fun and I haven't even wet a line yet. I am currently trying to hunt turkeys. This is my first year in trying it so I am hoping to get one. My weapon of choice is the bow, could of blasted one easy this morning with a shotgun. Ihad justknocked my arrow in and was getting ready to draw when a truck drove up. I am going to try it again in the morning but it's a long drive for me.
