Hmmm...What SPECIES are you after...???

My one word answer would be nitecrawlers....

My two word answer would be nitecrawlers...minnows...

It would help a lot if we knew whether you might be fishing for bass, northern pike, walleyes, trout, or various species of panfish...

East or west canada or is it somewhere in between? Depending on What specie your going after makes a difference on what baits.

If you're going after walleyes, you can't beat a jig and minnow early in the season.
