Default Say hello to the 2009 City Lake Invitational champion!

Me and 10-12 buddies put up $20 each and take the first Saturday in April every year to have a little bass tournament between us. We call it the City Lake Invitational, but City Lake is just what we call our neighborhood, you can fish anywhere you want. City lake(lil 200 acre Roxboro water supply), Chub lake(100 acre 5' deep mud hole about a mile down stream, or any little farm pond or secret spot you can think of is fair game in our tournament. Biggest 5 bass takes the pot, except for 25% that is reserved for the lunker pot. We encourage everyone keep the fish alive to release, but there is no penalty for dead fish. Usually most of the fish make it back home, and the few poor souls that dont get to go to fryin pan heaven. Through some miracle someone other than me has won the last two years, but this years trophy has come home to the rightful owner, ME! The winning bag was 17.3 lbs(5 fish), I also won the lunker pot with a 5.3 pounder.

That also puts me in position to be the first ever potential winner of the City Lake "triple crown". Meaning that the same person would win the poker tournament(January), the bass tournament(April), and the muzzleloading big buck tournament(November) in the same year. Two down, one to go! Too much pressure!!!
