Whats the best thing to clean the insides?

What is good for cleaning out the insides of a fishing reel.
I have some that the greease has got dry and old, they need cleaning, regreasing,and reoiling.
SO what works for this?

I use WD-40 to clean all the gunk out then wipe as much of that off with a paper towl, then give ita few shots of silicone spray. Seems to work pretty good.

I use WD 40 to clean the reel and then put a tad bit of blue grease on the gears and 3 in 1 oil on the bearings..
Remember gears get grease..bearings get oil.

WARNING>.be careful disassembling baitcasters..lot's of tiny springs and the handle washers can only go on one way..

as long as its aluminum and not plastic, i use brake cleaner. after that, I relube with hot sauce.

Reel Magic when they get tight and dont want to work right. Other than that I spray them down and lube them up with hot sauce, or shimano reel oil.
