Default Opening Day Pike in Ct

First of all Connecticut is not Minnisota or the other Great Northern Locations for Northerns. A 36" fish 10 - 15 lbs is a real prize. You get a nice State Trophy Fish citation good for framing issued for 10 lbs or more. Any way early moring trout fishing was a bust the idea here was to keep them alive and use them for bait. I did get some jumbo shiners, $8.50 a dozen. To make anice long day a shorter story, boated a 26" fish and dropped a 35" - 40" fish at boat side. I kind of like that quick release but would have liked to get a measurement on him. Ho other fish like bass or Pickeral which is strange for Masfield Hollow Reservior. The Boat ran good for the opener!!!

Lets hear you opener stories??????
