I got 3 big meals out of them..I filled up 3 quart bags with fillets..AFTER I soaked them good with ice cold salt water..
We are having a a package of them about Wed.

blessed..my best lake is about fished out..and Saddle Creek is about fished out too. Two weeks ago while in a tackle shop an older man approaches me and says."I'll tell ya where there are some big slabs and lots of them." I said ." Where?"
and he told me..
The lake has no ramp and a steep stoney hill. It takes 2 to manuever the boat..down the hill and getting it back up was a trip..My 10 foot jon is a heavy duty one and very heavy..BUT in 5 minutes we were catching fish..I hooked one big bass which snapped my line very easily..A friend of mine caught a 10 pounder in there about 10 years ago..For bass.. it's all catch and release so I reccond there are some monsters in there.The lake is only 13 acres so it's very easy to fish ..Lot's of cattails, grass and lilly pads surround the sides and the middle has a hard bottom and 15 foot deep.
Thanks all for the responses..I'm taking this Friday off for one more round of crappie and worm bumping for bass.
