Pike fishing??

Just wondering if anyone hasany input on Houghton Lake, Michigan. Im thinking about taking a week long trip and im looking for fast action pike. Im leaning more towards the quanity of the pike rather than size. Anyone have anyinput on the lake or any other ideas would be helpful.

Houghton Lake... I frequent the area a lot, never fished it though. I generally fish Higgins Lake which is within a few miles from Houghton Lake. I have heard people do decent on numbers of Northerns, and some get decent in size.


Are you looking for some hard water or waiting until this spring?

I assume your from PA?




I know there are many hotels and a few cabins around the area in which to stay.

I know it is cheaper to come to MI, and we would love to have you, but I would think about a trip to Canada if your going to spend them money on it in the first place.

Thanks Buckhunter, and yes I am from PA and we usually go to lake nippising, canada but this year were going to have my grandparents and a few young kids with our group this year so we are looking for something a little less remote. We plan on going sometime in the summer the date isnt certain yet.
