Are you looking for open water or ice fishing?

Many variables pending on the type of fishing you plan of doing.

Stay away from humminbird, IMO That have broken on me numerous times. Lowrance was ok before the last few years, but we have gone through 10 units in the past 4 years. Raymarine is real good quality, as well as Garmin and it is all we use now.

I am not sure what you are looking for. You might want to check out 1 of DeLormes Earthmate GPS, they do have some NOAA maps you can load into them if you wish. Not all lakes will be available though. They do make a great GPS unit though..
