Default My first Idaho Steelhead of the fall 2008 season.

Now that my big game seasons are over, and my rifles oiled and put away, I managed to slip out and dip my line and picked up this nice 18 pound male.

Man, I am so jealous of the Steelies out there. I take part in the Great Lakes Basin Steelhead, and they aren't anything like that.

Congrats on a fine fish, sure would love to come out there sometime for some fishing!

WOW, Nice fish you have there, but it sure looks like some cold fishing to me. Did you catch him with a fly rod? It sure would of been fun to catch that way..Congrats!!

Clearwater river, right here by my hometown of Kamiah. I am spoiled because where I fish the most for these guys is only 1/4 mile from my office and house. I caught this guy while lazy man fishing. Trolling a plug from the drift boat. River is froze up now, so have to wait for the Feb. melt to hit them again.

You can not ice fish them? That would give me some fun times that is for sure.. I enjoy ice fishing just to see what happened to hit the bait..

This time of year I really start getting the urge. My closest area is Salmon, which is nearly 3 hours away. In our part of Idaho we really don't get many B-run fish, and I normally can't do much until the weather breaks in march. I envy you guys hitting them in January and February. I need to bite the bullet and get up there some time.
