Default Northern Pike 12/12 [pics]

This year is the earliest I have ever been ice fishing in my 10 years of doing it alone. Been ice fishing since I was in the womb, otherwise.

Usually we cannot get on until Christmas, but today was a treat. Couldn't fish the middle of the lake for panfish because ice was only about 2", but the shallows of the lake were froze with almost 5" of ice.

Used tip-ups with chub and shiner minnows.

Had 4 "flags", and caught 3 fish. The fish I missed ended up hitting again, and I know this because upon inspection of the 30" Pike, he had both of my minnows in his gut (hungry fella).

2 Northerns (18" and 30") and 1 Largemouth (14")

Sure wish I could post the video of this bad-boy, great fighter.

I do all self-video, self-photo. Wish I had the connection to upload the video.

The Germans call Northern Pike 'wasserwolfe' -- water wolf!!! I think that is a neat name. I sometimes fish in NW Wisconsin and really like catching Northern Pike.
