Default Ever fished from one of these?

Morning guys,

Have any of you ever fished from one of these 2-man bass buggy deals that you can get from Academy? I have an 18ft Procraft that I just got a few months ago and the boat bug has bitten me again. I'm looking at something for smaller/ bodies of water. I thought about a small jon-boat but a friend of mine recommended this. What do ya'll think?

For small bodies of water they should work good. It is just as wide as a standard 14' jon boat and the pontoons should make it pretty stable. It would be nice for getting into tight spots.

Those are very stable, but the space for tackle is limited unless it's just you alone.

Used to own one. Used it on ponds of all sizes... They are very stable, and go real well with a 30 lb. thrust trolling motor on the front and back. That allows both people to manuver.... If it is just you, take one seat out and you are in business. With one person, tackle area is not near as restrictive, but yes, with two guys, you only get to take so much with you. The other problem is your fish.... Do you use a fish basket, rope stringer, hook stringer..... and how do you secure it... It is not that bad, but you just have to figure some things out to see what works best for you.

As far as how they work or do they work.... you bet. They are light weight and easy to move around / pick up / carry ..... I really liked mine, and they guy that bought it from me loves it.

God Bless

MET

I have been looking at these for the last 3 years. I just haven't decided to get one yet. They would be great out on the small lake that I fish and easy enough to take to other lakes.

I saw 2 people in one yesterday with an electric trolling motor hooked up to it. It appeared to work great in the water they were fishing, but as Chuck stated I wouldn't want to be caught out in a wind with one.

I fish out of one all the time on our stock pond. Works pretty good, and during the warm months, that's about the only way to fish. The fire ants are so bad around the banks that standing in one spot for any length of time will get you stung all over. It will hold two people and a decent tackle box or two fine. They are easy to tote around and are pretty stable for a little boat.
