Default Bass Fishing - Morning of 6/19 - (PICS)

Well, the broken ankle is healing and allowing me to get some good time on the water. Recently, after the midwest flooding, the water temperature as well as the air temperature has dropped significantly. Fishing has been much better as well.

ENJOY!

First catch of the morning...

Gorgeous scenery, thank the lord I am able to deer hunt this land!!!

Mix in some Crappie (specks).

And the largest bass of the day, hit the jointed rapala. (May have been 3.5lbs)

And the surprise, while trolling this Carp hit the jointed Rapala. I have never been able to catch these large Carp, but amazingly he hit this lure. I thought I had the new state record Bass, guess not. 10+ minute fight on four pound test.)

Nice carp! I fish professionally for carp and use 30# power pro and have break offs. I'd say you did good with the 4# test

Good work buckhunter! Man those pics make me remember my earlier years when I would be up until midnight with my friends, yet get up at the crack of dawn to fish like crazy! I was crazy about bass fishing in my teens.

Thanks guys, it sure was fun.

Hey Adam, why do you think the Carp hit that jointed Rapala, I never thought they would give much effort to eat something.

I've actually seen carp busting schools of minnows before. They can move when they want to. Right now is a perfect time to catch carp if you have mullberry trees overhanging your ponds. They stack up underneath them and wait for the berries to fall off. I like to fly fish for them by using a black deer hair "mullberry". Otherwise nothing beats sweetcorn or commercially made doughballs. (Unless you go all out and by the professional fruit baits but its not that readily available compared to canned sweetcorn
