I definitely love catchin the cats!!! I moved just a touch north now, but still hope to do a little next summer!!!

We castnet alewives from the pier in the spring, they are simular to a 4-5" shiner, typically use longer rods and lighter line(8-10' rods, 8# line) with a #6 hook and a bank weight on a slide with a 18" leader. I typically fish cats in the late springtime from dusk til midnight or so...

I think minnows are by far the most versatile and productive baits for cats..

Tried all kinds of baits....found thatSHAD seems to be the most productive.

oh yeah live gizzard shad are awesome for flatheads....we use clip on bells when night fishing....

i like to use 2 minnows ont he same hook or hot dogs but blue is just about as good as it gets
