jsut remember that the initial investment of a small aluminum boat is about the cheapest part of the total investment. if you only spend $150 for a boat, your going to have to patch leaks, buy life jackets and the other required saftey equipment, a trolling motor, batteries, and get it regestered which will run another 75 - 150.

your best off either saving more money, or getting a kayak or canoe.

Look for someone selling a used one. You can pick them up for a couple hundred dollars sometimes with out a motor.

I got a 10 foot Polar Kraft for 100.00 no leaks...from the newspaper. There is presently a 12 footer with trolling motor and battery in our paper for 250.00

An oar was under 10.00 ..that got me going

Phil,
The man hadn't put it in the paper yet. He was a nice ole fellow and said a church gave it to him.

I also pull my jon with a bumper hitch.I didn't want to have a regular hitch mounted on my Explorer. I was very tempted though..and ask the man to show me how to run it.I'm not familiar with these serious types of boats..He showed me how to switch the batteries over..He pumped the bulb up..gave it a little bit of choke{Of course after hooking up the garden hose to the engine } She started up nicely. He said it flys and he mostly used it as a ski boat. Alot of smoke came from the exhaust..I watched it for a while and it never did stop smoking. The interior as very nice, Had a steering wheel of course and bass seats. Some other resasons I didn't get it.

A.I canfish some remote areas with my little jon...that big boats can't get to.I love that.My own little lake spots.
B.Much more money to maintain than a jon boat.
C.Would have to get a heavier duty hitch
D.Might kill myself...she looked like a speed demon[8D]
E, Didn't wantto deplete myhunting/fishingsavings.
