Default Walleye fishing for Smallmouth

I was out on a new lake a few weeks ago drifting a nightcrawler on a bottom bouncer trying to catch walleye. I ended up catching 3 decent smallmouth. This was off a steep, windy point in about 20' of water where I expected the Walleye to be.Does anyone know ifsmallmouth and walleyes live in the same place and tolerate each other, orif I need to look elsewhere for walleye? I remember reading something somewhere about fish cohabitation, like "if you see this fish, it means this other fish won't be anywhere nearby", but I forget which species will cohabitate and which won't.

Default RE: Walleye fishing for Smallmouth

i beleive that where you find sheephead or smallmouth you are likely to find walleyes.
