To me bass are the funnest. A 30+ lb king gets the heart pounding. As far as eating goes perch and walleye are tough to top in my book.

Big old slimy gators are the only way to go. I don't care what anyone says Northerns put up probably the best fight of any game fish, they taste excellent, and you can catch big ones consistently if you know where to go. Not to mention their aggressivness you have a 20 lb gator hit your spoon, chub, or jerk bait you know you've got somthin and they don't give up. I love northerns.

Wait, wait, ready PLUG EM!!!!!

im a cat chaser..i just love the warm summer nights sitting on the rivers edge with my lantern waiting...watching the stars and just thinking...then all the sudden BAM! the bobber(i use it as a strike indicator on the line between the rod guides and when they pull they get slack and the bobber goes up...) flys up and nails the rod and the pole goes flying if you dont grab it..then the fight is on..even a 5lber will fight like you wouldnt believe..i caught a 14+lb flathead...my biggest..last summer and my reel has 17lb test on and he wore me out!!! i fought him for atleast 5 mins on a big spinning reel and a stiff rod...then i got him to shore and he slapped his tail and soaked me and went for another run! we were both exauhsted..it was the greatest...i do love my trout fishing and pan fishing and bass fishing..i think i was born to fish..i love it...i do love watching the bass slam a popper on the top..i love using small spinning gear like 6lb test...its a blast...

Paulbear here is a tip for fishing bluegill. Tie some colored pieces of plastic to your anchor line about every 2 feet apart(I used different colored plastic bags). This atracts the fish especially bluegill My kids and I tried this last year and it worked great. We caught over 50 fish in less then a hour onetime it was a blast. Usally you don't have to wait long for them to come into the area once they are there hang onto your hat and let the fun begin.

For me it's getting up and walking down to the pond at first light with my 5 1/2 ft. ultralight spinning rod, 6 lb. Berkley Trilene, and a #5 or #7 Original Floating Rapala. (Chartuse or Black & Silver) Then walk around the pond casting along the bank ahead of me. I catch largemouth, crappie, bluegill, sunfish, channel cats, drum, heck I even caught a carp one time doing that! Never know what coming up. It works the best when the water is like glass. I just let the lure set on the surface and twich it, causing ripples to come off of it like a dying minnow. If any other fish is in the neighborhood, they come running. I fish for cats at night too. And for carp in the summer. But it's those early mornings by myself on a farm pond that really get my juices flowing!
