Can't wait to see them..these were caught in 10 feet of water on red worms.
6 pound test , Garcia 101 , Lightening rod light
Also caught 12 bass on the red worms...only 2 bluegills needed to be thrown back..and they were 8 inchers. These average between 9 and 11 1/2 inches.
Best bluegill day I've ever had .
The reason this lake is so hot is because it's been closed ot the puiblic for about 30 years. It was reopened last June.
Lake Fish Hook again.
God is wonderful and His mercy endureth forever.

Took a little over 1 1/2 hours to fillet them all. I raise the red worms under my rabbit cages. They are about 5 inches long and very hearty.
My new depth finder worked very nicely...I still need to reread the manual..lot's of different settings. We are having bluegills tomorrow for dinner. I got 6 meals of them,
Take care.

WOW...!!... Those are some AWESOME bluegills, Chuck...Nice catch...

I don't know of anyplace locally where I can get bluegills of THAT size on a regular basis, although one of the Finger Lakes, Honeyoye, comes close with limit catches of 9-10 inchers being routine during the spawn...

I always make sure to make a few trips for bluegills during may and early June to stock my freezer.. They are favorite eating fish...Little buggers FIGHT like demons, too, for thier size...
