It's so damn frustrating still not knowing what to throw on certain days and not catching crap. I've went fishing over 10 times this year. Caught three fish. One 5 pound bass, One bass, like half pounder. And One crappie. I think I just got totally lucky on that 5 pounder. Maybe Im not fishing the right spots, I dont know. Im trying to fish all the cover I can find, and trying to get to all the spots all the weekend warriors wouldn't go to, but like I said, I just don't know what to throw now. It's post spawn here, so now I really have no idea where they are at.
Dairy King,
I know how ya feel. Some hunters see deer nearly on every outing .I've seen 4 from my stand in 5 years down here in central Florida.Where you live is alot of it. Now, if other fishermen are catching fish in your body of water..yes something is wrong. Generally when I'm striking out I check with the other fishermen to see if they are too.
Now, if you really want a bass real bad and they flat out won't bite...hook a shiner through the lips. Put a BB split shot about 12" above him to keep your bait down. With a bobber fish your shiner about 3 feet off the bottom. If you still don't catch a fish it's because there are no fish, Shiners are nearly a 100% guarantee.
Dairy King...I do beleive the best all round artificial bait when bass are stubborn is a 6 inch scented soft curly tail rubber worm...dark color....3/16th ounce bullet sinker ..fished Texas style...add a glass rattle in the worm as well. use a 3 /0 worm hook..and the skiniest / invisable line you can fish with confidence with.
God bless,
C7,

Hey dairy, don't be surprised if there are still alot of bass spawning. I know that I have discovered the bass just starting to move up and get on the beds heavily here in the last week or so. During the spawn bass can often times prove to be tough to catch.

You need time on the water. 10 times is nat enough to learn much. Go to a local shop and ask question. You will learn from others that may know a bit more. Post spawn is a tough time. Jerk baits work well but you need to find fish first. Again, time on the water. Shoot for 35 days.

In that area, what you're refering to would be called WAL-MART
I was in Jax for a bit this past weekend and a friend and I drove/walked the lake for a while and saw a lot of fish on beds. Always seems to happen that way when I'm not packing a rod.[:@]I'm not real sure what we were thinking, pokin' around the lake with no gear.
start throwing spinnerbaits in shallow cover theres always fish shallow
This is deffinately not true in my area. Spinners may be a great idea, but there are not always fish shallow. Depending on the area you live and fish, early season could be a good start for spinners in shallow water.
