I have all mine inan Excel spreadsheet. I'm hoping that as I keep track of information, I'll be able to use the pivot tables to establish seasonal patterns andkeep track of what really is working in my tackle and fly boxes.

I have also created on using Excel but I am not happy with it. Grizzly do you mind sending the template of yours? I would like to see how you have it set up.

I'd be happy too but,... I'm not real sure how. Let me talk with the Excel guru at work tomorrow and I'll get it for you. Just a note, right now I only have the spreadsheet itself set up. I started it about the middle of last year and haven't set up the pivot tables yet because there is only about 15 lines of info. I meant to go back and transfer the stuff out of my various notebooks but haven't quite gotten that far yet.

Thanks, since you have it as an excel file just open am email and send it to jfergus@netrixllc.com, then go to the file tab on top of the email and click the attach file option. Pretty easy to do. I am just curious what you have on yours. I just created mine a few weeks ago but keep changing it every week and am still not very happy with it.

I do that when fishing and hunting.

I like to jot downon a ledger a few things for my own information.

1. D/M/Y,
2.Time Of Day,
3.OutsideTemperture,
4.Windy Conditions
5.Water Temperture
6. Rod
7. Reel
8. Line
Of course, I tryto record all catch sizes, weights, timeof day caught, condition of the fishing area.

I will have an idea for the next time or 6 months later. After about 3 months, you can figure a percentage on which Rod/Reel/Line/Bait, Time Of Day, Water Conditions, Water Temperature, Outside Temperature,etc.,etc.etc., caught the most fish.

I keep a current calendar and the last 2 years calendars posted next to my area where I hang up my ice fishing gear. Every day when I come home I post where I fished and the amount I caught. Every day when I get ready to leave I look back on the old 2 years worth of calendars to see where I fished and how much I caught. Some things are pretty much the same season over season but weather conditions can change where you find them. If I hit a hot steak on perch on New Years I usually go right back to the same place the next year and by doing it like this I usually stay on a good bite.

Thanks for the log. You definetly have a few catagories that I haven't thought to add yet. I think that I will start using yours instead!
