Default End of ice season

For most ice fishing for sport fish has now come to an end. How was everyones season?

I caught more northern this year then I have in a long time but none of them had any size to them. Also caught a few large mouth. This is the first year that I didn't manage to catch a single Walleye. Rather disappointed with that since I was hoping to put some in the freezer. Now time to start stocking the freezer with Crappie, Perch and Blue Gills.

We have the month of march left and can't wait to get back out. March is normally alot better fishing than Jan. and Feb. is. The weather is alot warmer too.

Long as you can stay on the ice, the better the fishing. I am hoping to get out a few more times until probably middle of March. We have caught mor gills this year, and big ones. Not many pike, a few nice ones though.

In Wisconsin sport fish has come to an end till May. I was talking to the local DNR agent on saturday and she was saying that they will be out checking what bait people are using. Anything that isn't panfish bait will be ticketed. I will be on the ice for a few more weeks but time to put the tip-ups away for this season.

The walleye bass and northern seasons are closed until may here in mn but the crappie fishing is heating up. the last couple time out usually in mid to late march is the best. But then walleye fishing opens on the river in april so i don't have to long of a wait

Spartanhunter-- Awsome catch. Don't think that I have ever caught that many in that short a time! Looks like you will be eating well!

Well hopefully I can get out in march. That's when my grandma's friend puts out his shack. The pike will keep on coming also the panfish are on.
