Default Do you fish by the moon??

I certainly do. The week prior to the full moon is my favorite. I guess my favorite is Waxing Gibbous.

I fish every chance possible. So I guess if I hit it right it is just a lucky day.

I fish, and hunt, whenever I can. No time to be worried about the phases of the moon. I don't believe that it matters anyway. There has never been any scientific evidence that I am aware of. Just hocus pocus smoke and mirrors IMO.

Steve,
I'm also from Maryland. How ya doing.? Being a Christian I am totally against any kind of horoscopes or anything else,,but I did set out onceto see if there was a difference.

There is....I fish at a very highly pressured lake. The week before the full moon I catch alot more fish..Maybe this is mere coincidence,..maybe not. Then , I watched the awesome video Bigmouth Forever.. During the actual full moon _ {Because of the gravitational pull} the bass were actually video taped wedging themselves between rocks to keep from falling over. A bucket of wild shiners were on top of about 100 bass. Not one was interested in biting.

When I came down here to go to Bible college an ole Florida cracker pulled out his moon chart that is daily in our newspaper. He said the bass would be biting in about 30 min. He was correct. Just out of nowhere they started biting. Now, I'm like the rest of you but I do check the solonar tables...And if the moon is right my confidence is boosted way up. Sure , I can catch fish nearly at any given time..but those handful of days proior to the full moon...my expectatons are very high.
That is strictly my opinon with some data thrown in.

Sampling of Bigmouth Forever..best video out there IMHO

Bigmouth

broadband (256K) sample

Chuck,

I can't argue with your observations. I just know I haven't seen any published studies to support the idea. I go hunting or fishing whenever I have a day off and don't give a thought to the moon so I have not first hand evidence.
