not to hijack but travis they are having way to much trouble iwth the etec i live around em and yamaha 4 strokes here and the mercurys are kickin their tail sure ive got brake in time but my warranty in unconditional and my motor doesnt break like the etecs have been around herethey are being way overrated on the commercials. Just thought i would let you know. ( ps there are good and bad in all of them but etec isnt doing so hot not bashing them just informing people before dishing out a lot of dough on a motor)

Yeah I hadn't really researched them I've just seen they're advertising, but you can expect that from the same people who make the Outlander ATV's. I was thinking about getting a new motor last year but I decided to keep my old evinrude.(I know same company as e-tec)
