It seems that Wal Mart is no longer going to carry Abu Garcia fishing reels, at least the ambassadors. I picked up a 5500CL3 on clearance for $35. Cabelas sells it for $70. Would have boughttwo but its the only one they had. Thought you all might want to check them out at your store. If they aren't marked down with a clearance sticker, have them do a price check anyway. A different store had a 5500C4 without a clearance tag, $90 sticker on it, but when she did a price check it was $50...

I also found a Light Lightening Rod in the 12.95 section. I grabbed it. In another Walmart it was 29.00. I bought a C101 Garcia and put it on that puppy. Man!!!Talk about an awesome panfish rod.

there was a deal at Gander Mountain where if you bought a 50 dollar abu garcia reel you got a $30 lightning for free so I figured it would make a good northern rod so Itook advantage of it and boy am I glad

Yeah,,you can't beat those Lightning rods for the price. They are warranted for life too. I sent one off and got one back for free.

Here lately I've been loving light/ ultra light fishing. I'll probalby only fish for bass if we get a tournament up this year. I do fish for them in the spawn.Other than that..it light fishing for me. I love watching that flimsy rod doubly over and the sing of my drag as line is being stripped off the reel.
