thought I'd share a pic of a monster blue cat i caught

Just wanted to share this with you all. It's a 43" 38lb Blue cat that I caught on rod and real here in Missouri. We ended up catching 173lbs of fish that night with only 12 fish.

That must have been a heck of a fight. How was you rigged up and what size line was you using.We would love to hear the story.

what a hawg, thats deffinately the biggest blue cat ive seen come out of missouri. My biggest was just shy of 10 lbs I caught it about half way between the warsaw harbor access and the 65 hiway bridge there below the truman lake dam.

Farm believe it or not that is me bud, got tired of going bald slowly so went quickly[8D].
I was using a shakespeare cat stick, with 30 lb test, I caught him on dead shad. As soon as I felt him on the other end I knew it was a good fish. The next smallest one we caught that night was 29lbs and then a 28lber. It was an awesome night of fishing, then it died off when they went to their spawning beds. I am going to give it another try this weekend. Here is another picture for ya's

That is a big catfish we only have hornpout up here so we never
catch anything like that. Congats.

awesome fish!!! id love to catch me a big ole blue! we only have channels and flatheads here....how do blues fight?? do you have flatheads or channels there to compare them too??just curious....i know some big fish are like reeling in logs..but a flathead catfish seems to fight till he wins! lol i havent caught anything huge...10lbs or so but that aint bad sized for around here..we are about their northern limit..call me crazy but if i ever go on a fishing trip id DEFINENTLY consider fishing for trophy flatheads or blues.....to me nothing fights like a big ole catfish.....

An absolute awesome fish. What type of water were you fishing? Dropoffs, deep, current, etc. Just curious. We have had a hard time locating the blues this summer.
