Took my boy to my secret hole to let him pull in some blue gills (he's 3 yr old) and a sworm of cat's pushed off all the blue's. I caught one just to make my son happy then took him home. So last night I went back with a friend who eat's cat. (I don't care for it myself only on occassion do I eat my catch I usually catch and release but these guys were crowding my son's fishing out) I caught 5 including one dandy 9 punder and my friend caught 2. Easy catching cat if you know how. Is one fool proof west Georgia way to get em easy: take a treble hook and wrap a piece of thin wire around it real close to the hook shanks. If your lazy eagle claw makes hooks with the wire already on there. Put on a slab of white bread onthe hookand mash it into the wire (the wire keeps the bread from being eaten off easy) drop it in with a bobber set at 1 to 2 feetand waitabout 5 min. Wait till the bobber goes flying under water and doesn't come back up. Ohh btw I use 20 lb test with a Palomar Knot to catch cat's. They can't break it and it will never pull free. Once you have your catch take them home Nail them through a tree by their head make a slice down the middle and pull out the innards. Slice around entire fish and under the gills deep enough to get a hold on the skin. Take some channel lock pliers and pull off the skin. Use a macheti to cut off the head. Rince off the fish and put him on ice. Pull the nailed head off of the tree so your wife doesn't freak out and start on the next one.Probably more info than you wanted but I know how C7 likes detalis I'll post some pic's as soon as I can.
Take Care,
Big Pappa
