Default Buying my first BOAT!!!!

Just got done looking at a few Jon Boats and I picked out a new 16 ft. Polar Kraft w/ a new 25 hp Johnson. Pretty excited about picking it up. I'm leaving for Norfolk Lake this weekend so I won't be able to get it until I get back next Saturday.

Can't wait to tear into some big river cats and backwater bass!!!

Well today I finally got to pick it up. It ended up getting done about a week late, but no big deal since I had to work all last week.I haven't had a chance to get it in the water (no insurance), but I got a real old trolling motor set up on it and got it running so shes ready to go. Going to start making a little addition to the deck and get the livewell up and running pretty soon.

Can't wait to load it in the water.

I got a similar set up, 16ft 20hp, and It was my first boat. I got it about 9 months ago, and there is nothing better, IMO. Its the perfect size to take it out alone, just for the afternoon, with a friend, with the dog, WHATEVER!! I love it, and Just got it wet this weekend. Didnt catch any fish, but still loved every second of it. The only thing I have to say, is always take it. I went fishing yesterday, and cursed myself every minute for not hitching it up.

Yeah Bloodstayn, I have had a pretty good time with mine so far. I've taken it out about 5 times in the last week now and caught quite a few nice catfish.

I've also seen some pretty cool things already. Including a really nice non-typical 12point about 20 yards away. It was just standing on the bank watching us. I also got to watch a coon with it's kittens as they walked the bank along the river. I'm having a blast already.
