Most trout fishermen use dry and wet flies. For me...I would try a Panther Martin Fly.{ A little spinner}

I like to use mepps I've had good luck with them. Also a small copper
back red and white dare devl or a small super duper. On the fly rod I
like using small streamers, a roral coachman, or a grasshopper.

I would say the best way to catch trout for someone just starting out is with spinners. As Chuck said PMs work great but there are all kinds and sizes out thee and they all work well. I would stick with a size 0-2 with some flash.

Unlike alot of other fishing, trout rigs are simple, why are they simple,because there are no rigs. You just tie a spinner, fly, hook for worm on your line and go to town.

Are you fishing in a lake or river.In lakes spoons work well, little cleos are a good choice.

#9 gold floating rapalas - big brown trout slayer. Caught them up to 26" in my favorite river.

If I'm fishing on a stream I use trout magnets. Almost any color just get in front of them and twitch it a little bit. I also love black rooster tail spinners 1/8 oz or less. If they won't bite on either of those, just corn on a bare hook with no weight. Works almost every time.

Panther martins and red rooster tails work wonders.

Ok, I don't tell everyone this but, here's a guaranteed (with a capital "G") way to catch trout.

Troll using a spinner and a worm. Use a Gold Sebago Spinner about the size of a silver dollar. Attach a #6 Eagle Claw snelled hook and put a worm on that hook.

Cast the line out, leave your bail open on the reel, row as fast as you can for a count of 12, set the bail, slow down until the tip of the road shows a slow/steady up and down motion caused by the spinner going thru the water. Keep that (slow) speed constant always watching the tip of the rod to ensure the action stays right.

The trout will usually hit this hard, if you don't get a chance to set the hook, get ready, they usually hit it again.

Like I said I don't tell this to everyone, only a selected few...by the way what does www stand for? ...Good Luck!
