Default saturday jig testing

Im all set to go throw jigs tomorrow. stoped last night and got some Eakins jigs and some football jigs. all in blue/black. purple/black. brown/orange.

Cant wait to get on the water and hopefully gain confidence in the jig. I will let you all know how it goes and hope to get something in the boat worth taking a picture of. Anyway just wanted to let you know im in for the jig test tomorrow and cant sit still thinking about it.

Hope you guys find some hungry fish this weekend

I'm with you my friend. If I catch any fish at all I'll post them. I won't be getting my rattled jigs until June 1st but I have 4 Strike King Lil Betsy 3/16

Good luck and I hope some of us have found a new lure to keep in the top tray of the tacklebox.

OH NO !!!! My trolling battery is dead. So I went straight to Wally world. It was an 18 month battery and only 1 year old. So I got a new exchange and 8.50 change. The new one tcost 8.50 less. Great deal. I'm set now.

Man...I wished I was fishing top water. There were some big ones busting th esurface. ButI kept my word.

6:30 AM I was flipping/pitching the edge full of willows and sticks.

7:00 AM I felt a pick up like my Texas Rig......I set the hook and boated a 12" skinny largemouth on a 3/16 Black & Blue Lil Betsy Strike King Jig

7:15. I felt the sponge Bob hit MT Hands was talking about. My bait was suspended and slowly moving. Set the hoo... darn missed it.

no more hits.

9:30 Too hot. Gone home.I checked with some other fishermen. I had out fished them because they had struck out.Total time fished 3 hours.

Summary. from 1-5 Five being awesome 1 being terrible.

1. Pitching and flipping ability ...5 plus
2. Casting compared to a rubber worm ...5 plus
3 Hits compared to rubber worms..........2 1/2
4. Confidence ....................................3 It's a keeper
Would work great as a spawning lure, heavy vegetation , or deep structure lure. I beleive the rattle jigs will be more effective. Thanks for getting me out of my comfort zone and trying somethign new. However; th enext time ther must be a clause in the rules. We may carry one extra rod for fish busting the surface.

uh oh, i don't want to tell you how my day went, water a daybreak, third cast one in the boat on a pop-r, ended up catching about 7 fish up top, top water bite died as ther sun got big, threw a 1/2 willow-leaf sp for about an hour and caught 2 fish, then pick up the jig and caught 3 more, one off of a stump in 6' foot of water the other 2 of boatdocks once the sun got really big in 3-5' of water, smallest fish about a pound 12-13" biggest was 3.5-4# around 20"on the jig (sorry didn't have camera and scales we dead), called it a day, not to bad for 5 hours, just no big bite, but time is/was at a premium for me today, chuck that bitsy bug is awesome for a tough bite, the smallies over on pickwick really like them also, whelp got to run go help my dad at his place and then eat a littlekeith

one shot, bitsy bugs are very close to being a tube, i have never fish the bitsy bug with a trailer, sounds good though

sorry chuck i thought the only folks that would be strictly using the jigs are the ones who had no confidence in them, myself i love em, like mentioned before i always have one on ready, a jig will is liable to catch em anytime day or night, but i really enjoyed the top water bite till the sun got up, the tried the ole sp, with very little luck between 9-11 i was pitchin the jig, if i had stayed all after noon i probably would have stuck with the jig till dusksomethin in this flavor
