Default can anyone tell me what kinds of fish these are.

I have been calling these suckers, but i dont actually know what they are called, usually they are silver, but this one was gold, and had a red chin.

The first one looks like a type of shad to me and the second looks like a stocked brookie.

First: Bighead Carp, I believe.

Second: Brook trout, I'm sure.

I would say the first falls in to the group of Chub, for me evrey fish other then troutends up in this group.

The second is a Brook trout, to dark in the face to be a splake.

Champ Isl, why do you say it is stocked?? I catch alot of wild fish that are as light as that one in the spring, am I missing a fin clip or somthing.

THe first one is in a standard creek chub, the second one is a brook trout, and a nice one at that!

thanks guys that was very helpfull, though i still dont know exactly what to call thefirst one, I think its either a fall fish or a creek chub.

And thanks for the compliments on the brookie, it must have been luck, its the first one i have ever caught! And only a few are taken out of that lake(6th lake, inlet)every year.

If it has little bumps on the top of it's head it's a Fall fish. I caught a lot of them in VT, the biggest one was about 17 in on a roostertail.
